Some families know a great deal about their roots;
others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what has been
learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to
be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of
this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far
apart.
It was on 9 March, 2002 that my journey into the
past began. Estranged from my family for more than 11 years, the thought
of establishing an online geneology of my roots was the farthest thing from
my mind.
All I was doing was looking for graphics for a
personal website for my
class reunion page
. That had been a laugh --only 16 of my classmates had been registered
at classmates.com
, and few of those even bothered to keep in touch with me. I realized
that a Muhlenberg County website where I had found the original graphic was
no longer in existence on the internet. This irritated me at first,
but I renewed my search. That was the only website I had seen that
had a picture of my school!
Search after search only brought up the REALLY
old stuff. Muhlenberg County history and geneology pages. One thing
led to another, as my curiosity got the better of me. Most of this information
was obtained from the previous labors of my Aunt Sue, talking to living
relatives and from researching public records. In the course of doing this
research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought
possible!
This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information
that might help round out the picture.

Acknowledgments
I would like to thank Ancestry.com for its immense database and for allowing
me to host our research of the Hill family tree. A special thanks goes out
to Aunt Sue (Hill) Fleming, who has been doing all of the genealogy research
by herself since 1987, and to her daughter Paula Camp and my sister Karen
Dickerson, who were the first to provide the old family pictures that make
this site so special, as well as a huge thank you to Angela Gunn Keating
for completing a huge amount of information on her grandfather Edgar Hill's
side of our tree, Dr. Linda Clements of Nevada and a cousin of ours, John
Hill (whom I have yet to meet) who have donated their extensive research and
notes to this work. You can find this information at Muhlenberg County,
Kentucky; Turner Publishing, Paducah, KY, 1996. Ancestry Product Watch--Special Offers!!!
